Hello there! My mum and are will be visiting from Australia real soon! I know a LOT has changed over the years. I am curious, are there still roaming characters in the parks? Ones that appear at random? Have the Citizens of Hollywood returned?

Hey there, hi there, ho there, Jessica! You're as welcome as can be here at planDisney. Thank you so much for bringing us your question!

Oh my... you must be so excited about your return to the Most Magical Place on Earth! I only say that because I tend to get really giddy during the months and weeks leading up to my trips, so I know the feeling. I seriously can't wait for you to walk down the middle of Main Street, U.S.A. with a Mickey ice cream bar in your hand and your favorite pair of ears on your head. You're going to have a fantastic time exploring all the new and exciting things that the Walt Disney World Resort has to offer!

Even though most character meet & greets at Walt Disney World have set locations and schedules, you will still find a couple of roaming characters at all four Theme Parks. However, just know that they can be quite elusive, and you might have to be at the right place at the right time to see them! Some of these characters include the Country Bears and Stitch at Magic Kingdom Park, Winnie the Pooh at EPCOT, Max, Chip and Dale, tons of Star Wars characters, and the Green Army Men at Disney's Hollywood Studios, and Kevin, DiVine, Goofy, Launchpad McQuack, Pluto, Pocahontas, Rafiki, Scrooge McDuck, and Timon at Disney's Animal Kingdom. These characters are always subject to change, but if you'd like to see when and where would be the best time and place to catch your favorites, all you need to do is open the My Disney Experience mobile app, click on the pin icon at the bottom of your screen, and select "Characters" from the drop down menu at the top.

Unfortunately, the famous Citizens of Hollywood still haven't made their triumphant return to Hollywood Studios. I used to love them too, so I also hope they come back in the near future! Tons of fan favorites have been coming back little by little since the reopening in late Summer 2020, so I wouldn't rule them out just yet. If you'd like to be among the first to learn about new and returning things coming to the Walt Disney World Resort, I suggest keeping an eye out for news from the Disney Parks Blog!

I hope you have a magical vacation, Jessica. If you have any other questions, you know just where to find us. We're always available and more than happy to help our fellow Disney friends plan trips that are practically perfect in every way! Have an enchanting week!

    Warm hugs,

    Ana Paula
