Ahoy there, Jessica!
Welcome back to planDisney! It sounds like you and your mom have an adventure ahead that’s sure to make a splash! Let’s chart a course so that your mom’s delicious “Drink of the Day” (whether it’s a tropical mocktail or something with a little extra pixie pour) doesn’t end up on your tab.
When it’s time to
complete your Online Check-In, you’ll reach the Onboard Account section, which is your golden ticket to keeping things shipshape. This is where you can enter a separate card for each of you and check the boxes to make sure your purchases are charged only to your own account—kind of like keeping Captain Jack Sparrow’s compass pointed to your true desires instead of hers.
Once you’re sailing away, you’ll be able to see your onboard account in the Disney Cruise Line Navigator app. While some shops may swipe your card directly, I highly recommend using your
Key to the World card or
DisneyBand+ for purchases. This keeps your travel money cards safely tucked away in your stateroom safe—because let’s be honest, you don’t want to go on a Finding Nemo–style quest for a lost card mid-cruise. Just remember to only use your own Key to the World card when you want the charge to be yours, and let Mom handle her own purchases with hers.
If you ever check your onboard account and find a charge that looks a bit Ursula—like it’s snuck in without your permission—swing by Guest Services. They can work a little magic (no Fairy Godmother required) to make sure everything is credited correctly.
I hope this helps you and your mom navigate the seas of onboard spending with ease, so every sip—whether it’s a frosty Dole Whip or a frothy latte—lands exactly where it should. May your voyage be filled with “Hakuna Ma-Tab” moments, plenty of “just keep sippin’” fun, and memories as sweet as Olaf’s love for warm hugs.
Sea ya real soon as we ride the wave of summer’s final stretch in Disney style,
Dustin
