Ahoy there Amanda and welcome to planDisney. Can you imagine sailors of the 18th century boarding our modern-day vessels and seeing all the electronics plugged in? Sometimes I think our stateroom desk looks like an electrical octopus lives there.
We have several multi-port USB/USB-C portable batteries that we plug directly into the USB outlets or connect to a charging hub that plugs directly into our
stateroom outlets. The hub is used to recharge backup batteries (if no direct outlet is available), smartphones, smart watches, digital readers, and of course,
DisneyBand+. As long as your portable backup battery (charger) is not a
prohibited item on Disney Cruise Line such as extension cords, power strips, or surge protectors, which may allow additional high currents through the outlet, they are allowed. I looked at all the options on the MyCharge website and it appears all those models would be fine. Please remember you are on a ship and electrical devices should be unplugged when there is no supervision. If your item is deemed unsafe, a crew member will let you know.
In general for charging electronics, if you can plug them into individual outlets they charge best instead of through a hub. We found ample individual USB charging outlets in our stateroom on the
Disney Wish while on the Disney Dream, Magic, and Wonder we required a USB hub.
Amanda, I hope this information is good news and helps you be shipshape for your voyage in a few days. Have a great time with Captain Mickey and the crew. Feel free to port with
planDisney again for more Disney vacation planning tips.
Enjoy making many Magical Memories on the High Seas.
