Can you have multiple waitlist requests? I have one wait request in, but am willing to change locations and put in another wait request, but would still prefer the first one.

    Hey There, Michael!

Welcome back to planDisney and "Welcome Home" from a fellow Disney Vacation Club Member.  Thanks for visiting us with another question.  How exciting that you're planning to spend some time at Walt Disney World Resort this holiday season –– with beautiful decorations, tons of festive treats, and fantastic special offerings, you're definitely in for an extra dose of holiday cheer.  But all the magic of the holiday season also makes it a very popular time to visit The Most Magical Place on Earth, which means that Disney Vacation Club Resort availability can fill up fast, which is what makes having the option to Waitlist a reservation so valuable for Members.  Let me share a few details about making Waitlist requests to help you plan your upcoming visit.

Here's the great news –– as a Disney Vacation Club Member, you can have up to two active Waitlist requests at one time. Whether you choose to Waitlist a reservation at two different Resorts or select different room types at the same Resort is up to you, but just keep in mind that two is the magic number.  If you need to modify or cancel your Waitlist request at any point before your stay, you can do this by visiting your Member Dashboard on the Disney Vacation Club website.

One of my favorite features of the Waitlist process is that DVC Members also have the option to cancel an existing reservation once their Waitlist becomes available. That way, you won't run the risk of forgetting to cancel an existing booking and risk losing your Vacation Points. For that reason, I always recommend booking a reservation at a Resort for your dates if possible, even if it isn't your first choice, that can be automatically canceled if your Waitlisted reservation opens up. That way, you won't be stuck without a reservation in the event your Waitlist doesn't come through.  If you don't already have another reservation in place for your upcoming visit, you might want to consider this option as a backup.

Thanks so much for visiting planDisney, Michael.  I hope this helped to answer your question and I'm wishing you lots of Membership magic during your upcoming visit to Walt Disney World Resort!

    Happy Planning,
    Amy
