Hey, Pete!
Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. I have been in this situation where we want to go to a Table Service restaurant but only have Quick-Service meal entitlements remaining.
The current policy is that each meal entitlement for a
Disney Dining Plan may only be used for the intended meal. That means Quick-Service meal entitlements for Counter Service/Quick-Service and Table Service entitlements for Table Service meals.
My suggestion is to keep the reservation and pay out-of-pocket for this one experience or upgrade your Disney Dining Plan to one that offers more flexibility. For example, if you are currently on the
2016 Disney Dining Plan you could upgrade to the
2016 Deluxe Dining Plan. This may solve all your concerns. I would price out the Table Service meal you would like to attend and see what the upgrade difference would be. If they are close then the upgrade may be the way to go.
Disney Dad Tip: Your trip in September is perfect. Low crowds, warm weather and my favorite
Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party! If you can attend on a party night you won't be disappointed. Happy HalloWishes Fireworks are like sorcery in the sky. Also, is the only time you will be able to get a photo with all Seven Dwarfs and see the Headless Horseman before Mickey's "Boo-to-You" Halloween Parade.
Pete, enjoy making many Magical Memories!
