I have multiple Disney gift cards I would like to use to purchase tickets. How can I purchase tickets with using the gift cards?

    Hi Serene,

Thanks for visiting planDisney with your question! Gift cards are a great way to pay for your Disneyland Resort adventure. I often ask my family for Disney Gift Cards for my birthday or Christmas so I can use them during my park days.

Before going online to purchase your park tickets, I recommend consolidating your gift card values as much as possible. Head over to the Disney Gift Card website, log into your My Disney Experience profile, and you’ll be able to manage up to six cards in your account. You can check balances, view transaction history, and transfer funds between cards — that last part will be especially important. One Disney Gift Card can hold up to $1,000, so consolidating your funds will make purchasing easier. Then head over to the Disneyland website to purchase your tickets. You can only use one gift card per transaction, so if your total exceeds $1,000 you may need to split your purchase into separate transactions.

If you have any funds left over, be sure to bring your gift cards with you to the parks. You can upload your gift card(s) to your preferred digital wallet to scan them easily in the park. While you can’t currently save gift cards as a payment method in the Disneyland app, a helpful workaround is saving the card number in the Notes app on your phone. That way, you can easily copy and paste the number when making purchases, such as mobile food orders.

Now for a little extra pixie dust: I noticed your visit coincides with Disneyland’s 70th anniversary celebration! The Disney Parks Blog just released the Foodie Guide for the festivities — and there are quite a few delicious items to try, plus a couple of collectible items I’ll definitely want to bring home (the popcorn buckets are amazing!).

I hope this helps you with purchasing your tickets, Serene! If you have any more questions or need additional planning tips, don’t hesitate to reach out to me or any of my fellow planDisney panelists. We’re always here to sprinkle a little extra pixie dust on your vacation.

    Have a magical vacation!
