I have 4 multiday passes I haven't been able to use (purchased Jan 2020). All are CA residents, but one may move out of CA by the time Disneyland reopens. Will those of us with existing unused passes be allowed first priority to reserve?

    Hi Tamara,

Thanks for taking the time to stop by planDiseny with your question for us.

I’m so excited to hEAR you previously purchased Disneyland Resort theme park tickets. It was a bummer you and your party did not have a chance to enjoy the parks last year due to the pandemic. I can’t believe it’s been over a year since we were able to stroll down Main Street, U.S.A., enjoy a DOLE Whip at the Tiki Juice Bar in Adventureland or zoom down Matterborn Bobsleds. I’m looking forward to planning our family’s upcoming visit to the Disneyland Resort theme parks and it looks like you’re ready to Return to a Land of Magic too, Tamara!

As you probably know by now, Disneyland Resort recently announced it will begin a phased reopening on April 30, 2021! That is much sooner than initially anticipated. When the Disneyland Resort theme parks reopen, park attendance will be managed through a new theme park reservation system. In order to enter a park, Guests will need a valid park admission, which you already have, AND a theme park reservation for the same park on the same day. While there isn’t much information yet, I speculate it will be similar to the current Disney Park Pass reservation system that has been in place at Walt Disney World Resort in Florida since it reopened last summer. To be in compliance with current guidance from the State of California, Guests are not able to enter without a park reservation (even if you already have tickets). Moreover, for the time being, only California residents will be allowed to enjoy the theme parks during the initial phased reopening.

I hope more detailed information will be shared soon by Disneyland Resort regarding reopening guidelines. Before you know it, Tamara, you’ll be back to the parks enjoying an ice cream sundae at Gibson Girl Ice Cream Parlor, taking photos in front of Sleeping Beauty Castle and checking out the all-new Avengers Campus in no time! Please be sure to stay tuned to Disneyland.com and Disney Parks Blog for the latest park news.

Tamara, if you have more questions for us, please don’t hesitate to visit us on planDisney again! We’re all EARS!

    Sending you Pixie Dusts,
    Kiki

Whether you are planning your once-in-a-lifetime family trip or a short adults-only getaway to the Happiest Place on Earth, I am here to help!
