Hi, Scott! Welcome to planDisney!
Less than a week until you're off to The Most Magical Place on Earth! I can only imagine how excited you must be. After all, before you know it, you'll be walking right down the middle of Main Street, U.S.A.!
And speaking of walking, your idea of moving walkways is pure genius. My tired feet would be so thankful for the assist on those long theme park days! While that particular technology hasn't quite made it into the parks just yet, Guests with some mobility issues can
rent wheelchairs or
Electric Conveyance Vehicles for use during their stay. You'll find details on how and where you can rent mobility devices on the Walt Disney World website at the links I provided above.
Other mobility aids such as canes and rollators are also allowed in the parks, so if you don't think you need to go the wheelchair or ECV route, you may want to bring one of these other options along with you. A rollator may be especially helpful since many have a seat that can be used to take a little breather during the day. Take a look at the
Mobility Disabilities page for more information about navigating the theme parks with these devices.
Scott, I hope this helps you plan a magical vacation for everyone in your party. And I'll definitely cross my fingers for those moving walkways to appear one of these days!
Thank you so much for stopping by to see us, and have a jolly Disney holiday!
Keep Disney Dreaming,
Kathy K.
