We were moving our vacation earlier to accomodate the buy 4 get 3 and upgrade to the Polynesian. Other than the convenience of the monorail and some adult amenities, will our kids (age 9 & 13) be just as happy at the French Quarter during mid summer

The Polynesian Resort is truly a beautiful oasis in the middle of Walt Disney World.

Your kids, however, would probably enjoy a moderate resort too. My son has enjoyed stays at the moderate resorts! In fact, I think families get a great value for their money at the WDW moderate hotels.

I would suggest that you consider one of the other moderate resorts though. Given the ages of your children, they will find the pool slide at Port Orleans French Quarter to be quite tame. Sliding down the tongue of the resident Sea Serpent, Scales, is a lot of fun but geared towards the younger set.

Your children would enjoy the pool at Coronado Springs, Caribbean Beach and Port Orleans Riverside. Try to look at resort photos at AllEarsNet.com to help in your decision.

During mid-summer, I would venture to recommend any hotel with a great pool and slide. POFQ is a lovely pool but the slide is definitely geared towards younger kids.
