Ahoy there, Robyn! Welcome aboard planDisney! I'm so glad you've pulled alongside to ask your question about the movies showing on your Disney Cruise Line vacation!
As someone who makes it a point to take in at least one movie in the
Buena Vista Theatre on every sailing, I love the fact that you're looking for what's "Now Playing!" The Disney Magic, the absolute classic that she is, has a capacity of 278 seats, though you'd swear it was more by the beautiful Art Deco styling!
We've had the pleasure of catching some of the best first-run films - including some premEARs - while aboard the Disney Cruise Line fleet, and judging by Disney's recent film release schedule it looks like you may be in luck for ... let's say a "Godlike" good time...
Are you a Marvel fan? I sure hope so, as the release date for "Thor: Love and Thunder" coincides with your sailing on the Disney Magic! If history is any indication, there's a good chance that not only will it be showing on your cruise, but you
may get a chance to see it in the Walt Disney Theatre, too!
Looking at other recent releases, you're likely to see "Lightyear," and "Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness" as well! Not too shabby when it comes to filling out the schedule and a great way to spend a few hours out of the sun while on your vacation! The theaters also typically play some classic Disney films throughout the cruise as well, so you should have no shortage of options!
Now, these are just based on the recent release schedules, and nothing is set in stone and is always subject to change, so be sure to
keep an eye on the Disney Cruise Line Navigator app for the latest updates once you get aboard the Magic!
Oh and here's a bonus "planDrew-approved" tip: want to catch a flick, but don't want to miss out on anything going on during the day? I suggest checking the schedule for late-night showings in the Buena Vista Theatre - often around 11 p.m. or Midnight - snag a blanket and wear your favorite hoodie, slippers, sweatpants or joggers, and other comfy clothing for the ultimate in relaxation, and plan on sleeping in just a little bit, especially if it's the night before a sea day!
I hope that helps you plan a few movie nights while sailing the high seas! Thank you so much for your question, Robyn, and if you have any others while you continue planning, please drop me another line here at planDisney!
Fair winds and following seas!
Andrew
