Ahoy there, Annie, and welcome to planDisney! It looks like you’ll be ringing in the New Year in the best way possible with a Disney Cruise, so I’d be delighted to help you preview the entertainment you may enjoy while onboard.
While I cannot tell you exactly what will be playing on your
4-Night Bahamian Cruise from Fort Lauderdale, I can share what First-Run Movies are currently playing in the Buena Vista Theatre on the
Disney Dream, as the lineup is often very similar from sailing to sailing:
- Elio
- Lilo & Stitch (2025)
- Moana 2
- A Very Jonas Christmas
- The Fantastic Four: First Steps
- Freakier Friday
- Tron: Ares
- Zootopia 2
- Avatar: Fire and Ash
That said, A Very Jonas Christmas will likely wrap up its run after the holidays, but Disney usually swaps in something just as exciting. One thing I absolutely love is that Disney often debuts its newest films at sea at the same time they premiere on land. In fact, my family and I sailed on the Disney Wish a couple of weeks ago and were able to watch the newest Avatar movie the night before it officially hit theaters. It felt like a true VIP moment.
On 4-Night itineraries like yours, you may also find that one evening in the Walt Disney Theatre features a movie presentation instead of a Broadway-style show. We watched Zootopia 2 there on our recent cruise, and it was such a fun way to mix things up. While there are no major theatrical releases scheduled for January 2026 just yet, I have read that the Indiana Jones franchise is expected to arrive on Disney+ in January, which could make it available to enjoy right from your stateroom.
To make the most of your time onboard, I have two tried-and-true tips. First, download the
Disney Cruise Line Navigator app before embarkation day and connect to the free DCL-GUEST WiFi once onboard so you can easily access the most up-to-date
showtimes and schedules. Second, I highly recommend purchasing a popcorn bucket on the first night. Those affordable refills come in handy all cruise long. I even snag a refill before heading up to the pool deck in the evenings to watch Funnel Vision under the stars.
I can’t wait for you to experience all the magic that awaits you at sea and on
Castaway Cay. If any other questions pop up as you count down to sail away, don’t hesitate to head back to us here at
planDisney.
SEA ya real soon,
Sami
