Flexibility is one of the many things that I love about Disneyland theme park tickets. You can absolutely change your
theme park reservation to a later date than the one that was selected at the time of purchase. You can make this change by logging into your MyDisney account on the Disneyland website. Next, click on "Theme Park Reservations" under the heading "My Disneyland" found towards the top right of the screen. Click the button to "Make or Modify Park Reservations," and you'll find a list of all of your theme park reservations. Finally, click on the "Modify Reservation" link for the applicable day to change the date of your visit.
There are a few things to keep in mind. Theme park reservations can be made up to 180 days in advance. Dates for August aren't available quite yet, but will become available in the coming months. Next, you'll want to look closely at which type of ticket you are using for your visit and pay close attention to the terms and conditions to see if they will still be valid for a visit in August. Finally, if you purchased a
1-day ticket, this ticket is tiered and may only be used on certain days within the applicable tier.
