Hi Rebekah!
So glad that you charted a course to planDisney today!
Let me assure you that Disney Cruise Line does an exceptional job with accessibility and ensuring Guests' safety, so you'll be sailing into smooth waters. If you would like a wheelchair or electric scooter during the cruise, then you definitely can bring your own or rent one through a third party vendor. However, Disney Cruise Line does not offer them for rental to Guests. Be mindful that all wheelchairs/scooters must be stored inside staterooms or in a designated parking area when not in use. Finally, Captain Mickey does advise that Guests plan to sail with family or friends who can physically assist them when necessary.
Another resource I recommend to you is the
Online Guidebook about all the
Services for Guests with Disabilities. Hopefully this will provide all the reassurance that you will be able to navigate the activities and entertainment onboard and off the ship with ease.
Not only will you have options onboard, but even in the Port Adventures, Disney Cruise Line also offers Port Adventures by Accessible Travel Solutions for excursions that can include all family members. Additionally, please feel free to
contact the Special Services Team in advance of your cruise, and they will ensure your vacation is practically perfect in every way. The best way is to fill out the
online form to let them know your specific needs no later than 60 days prior to your sail date. Or you can call the Special Services team at (407) 566-3602 or email SpecialServices@disneycruise.com.
Wishing you a terrific time on your adventure at sea and an open door to come back to planDisney anytime with more planning questions!
Happy Sailing!
Sherry
