With my motion sickness can I walk through the rise of the resistance queue but exit before the ride starts?

    Hi Carly,

Thank you for visiting planDisney with your question about Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance at Disneyland Park.  One of the many great things about this attraction is that you become part of the story even before you board the main attraction vehicle, which allows for guests to experience the pre-show even if they choose not to experience the full "ride".

After walking through several rooms prior to arriving at the "interrogation cells" where you will eventually board the attraction vehicles, let one of the First Order Cast Members know that you would like your journey to end there.  While the Cast Members may give you a hard time and interrogate you as part of the experience, they will lead you to the exit.  The first time we experienced Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance, one of our younger travelers had a change of heart and we were able to leave no problem.  Given that the attraction had already taken us through many different areas, he still felt like he got to be a part of the Resistance with us.  After you see the Stormtroopers, you are getting close and that is when you should ask to exit the attraction.

With that being said, I am very prone to motion sickness and my family convinced me to try it out.  I was able to enjoy the attraction, while other attractions like Star Tours, any roller coaster, even Soarin' Around the World are problematic for me.  There is one drop, that is similar to the drop on Pirates of the Caribbean, in my opinion.  The attraction is incredible, so if you can, I do recommend trying it, you may be pleasantly surprised.

I hope you have a magical time at Disneyland Resort, Carly.  If you have any other questions please come back and visit us here at planDisney again, we are always happy to help.
