My mother-in-law is coming with our family to the waterpark at Disney, but is not able to go in the water or on the slides. She just wants to watch her grandkids. Does she have to pay anyway?

    Hi Dana,

Unfortunately, all guests who enter a Disney theme park or water park must pay admission fees regardless of their intent to ride attractions.  My parents, who are both retired and ride few attractions, have often wondered the same thing.  If you don't plan to ride anything, why must you pay for admission?  Well, you'll notice as soon as you enter the park that there's so much more to the Disney theme parks and water parks than rides.  It's a fully immersive experience and everyone must present an admission ticket to enter the parks.

I do hope your mother-in-law will have a fun time on vacation with you at Walt Disney World.  I've learned from experience that multi-generational trips can be the most magical!

    Best wishes,
    Jill
