Welcome to planDisney, Rebekah! Thanks so much for stopping by to ask us this great question. From one Colorado mom to another, I'm happy to help!
I have taken a mother-daughter trip to both
Disneyland Resort and
Walt Disney World Resort and both are such magical places to make special memories! I think it's important to consider your travel party, as well as the additional cost of a rental car and
parking. While you do have to secure and pay for your own transportation from the airport to
Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa, once you arrive,
complimentary resort transportation to the theme parks and
Disney Springs is included with your stay at a Disney Resort Hotel. If you choose to rent a car, there is a daily self-parking fee of $25 per night, per vehicle which will be applied to your hotel folio upon check-out. Standard theme park parking is included for registered guests of Disney Resort Hotels or you can pay the difference for preferred parking at the theme parks which is currently $20-$25 per day. Whether I enjoy a glass of wine at dinner or a margarita from Mexico at
EPCOT, I love knowing that I can leave the driving to Disney and just relax. I have found the
Walt Disney World Bus Service to be reliable at the resorts and generally have not ever waited more than 15 minutes for a bus to the theme parks. I think having your own car is a personal preference and I would choose what you feel is best for your family.
As you are planning your mother-daughter vacation, I have some other suggestions. My daughter and I really enjoyed having some special meals. You can make
advanced dining reservations up to 60 days before your arrival date. Because you will be making so many great memories, be sure to use
Disney PhotoPass Service to capture all of those moments!
I hope you have a great vacation at The Most Magical Place on Earth during
The Walt Disney World 50th Anniversary Celebration! Please visit us at
planDisney again if we can answer any additional questions.
Happy Planning!
