My mother will be traveling with us in September, but she is unable to ride any of the rides due to back issues. Is there a ticket she can purchase for the parks without having to pay the full price?

    Hi Sharlene,

Welcome back to the Moms Panel. I'm sorry to hear that physical limitations may prevent your mom from enjoying some of the attractions at Walt Disney World. Unfortunately, tickets are all-inclusive, so there is no discount for those who want or need to forego some of the activity.

If your mother needs accommodation because she can't walk, stand or wait in line for long periods of time, I suggest you visit Guest Relations at the parks to ask about a Guest Assistance Card (GAC). The cards, issued based on medical needs, allow eligible guests to skip some of the more strenuous parts of the attractions, such as the long queues. Perhaps having one of the cards could be useful to your mom and make it possible for her to participate in more activities..

I'm sure she can still have a wonderful time with you, even if she decides that all rides are out. For me, the most important part of a Disney vacation is the time I spend with my family, regardless of what we see and do.

Please let me know if I can answer any other questions for you as you get ready for your visit. I hope it is an enjoyable, memorable experience for you all.
