Hi Jennifer,
Thank you for stopping by planDisney!
With the recent changes in the
Disability Access Service (DAS), I can understand your concern. Unfortunately, we cannot determine whether or not your mother will qualify for the service. She will need to have a pre-arrival conversation through the
live video chat feature.
Having used DAS in the past, I hear your worry. It certainly made navigating the parks more manageable for my family. Looking at your arrival dates, however, I am hopeful that the temperatures might be doable for at least part of the day. My family used to travel in July and August. We started going in December to experience the
Holidays at Walt Disney World Resort and it is now my favorite time of year to visit. The weather has actually been quite lovely.
When we do go during the warmer months, we will head to the parks in the morning, eat lunch, and then go back to the resort in the afternoon. We then head back to the park in the evening after the temperature has gone down a bit.
Be sure to also check the
Services for Guests with Disabilities. There may be other support mechanisms available that will help you all manage the theme parks. I would suggest that you take a look at the
Theme Park Guide Maps for Guests with Disabilities. They should help you determine where the mobility access is for select attractions.
Jennifer, I do hope you both are able to continue visiting. Life is short and it sounds like you all have good memories together in the parks. Sending a wish to the Evening Star hoping you can find a way to travel back to the magic.
Magic and memories,
Donyell
