My mother and I are making our first DW trip this March. We're staying at the WL, and will be in Epcot for her 55th birthday. I'd love to do something special for her. As the mom experts, what would you recommend as great ways to celebrate a great mom?

Kari, how exciting!  Your first trip to Walt Disney World will be a magical way to spend your mother's birthday.  I have a few other suggestions that you could consider in planning an EXTRA special day that your mother will never forget:

--When you check into your resort, be sure to mention that you will be celebrating your mother's birthday.

--Stop at guest relations in EPCOT and ask for a birthday pin for your mother, and a first visit pin for both of you.  You never know what extra magic can happen when cast members see you wearing them.

--Do you have dining reservations for that night?  At most full service restaurants, you can order a custom cake for the event.  Call (407)827-2253 for more information.

--New this year are In Room Celebrations.  You can arrange for your resort room to be decorated with surprise presents and magical treats.  Extra fees apply.  Call (407)939-4438 for more information.  I received one of these during my last visit, and I have to say it was incredible.

--Walt Disney World Florist can deliver special arrangements to your room, sprinkled with a little bit of pixie dust, of course.

Have fun planning your extra surprises, and enjoy your trip!

Meet the Panelist: Diane, Georgia

After spending 25 years in RI, my husband and I relocated to GA with our youngest, who is now in high school. I took my first trip to Walt Disney World when I was 11 and I have traveled many times since then with all different party sizes. From creating our first itinerary as a honeymooner to later creating magical experiences for our multigenerational family gatherings, every aspect of planning a vacation has been pure joy to me.  Learn More About Diane
