86 yo mother is legally blind though has some vision, but not enough to maneuver a scooter or powerchair. I have mobility issues. We want to visit Disney World together as Bucket List item. Can we get special permission to rent 2 person scooter?

    Hi, there!

Welcome to planDisney, Rebecca. I'm delighted you've stopped by! It's my pleasure to help you plan a Disney vacation.

What better to add to your Bucket List than pixie-dusted adventures at the Walt Disney World Resort? I just love that you're planning this magical visit with your mother. And what perfect timing! The Walt Disney World Resort is about to commemorate its 50th anniversary with "The World's Most Magical Celebration." This incredible 18-month event is a time to celebrate the small stuff, the big stuff, and even the in-between stuff. I'd say checking an item off your bucket list is BIG stuff!

It sounds like you and your mother certainly have a few unique needs that need to be taken into consideration when planning your vacation. The Walt Disney World Resort is committed to providing a safe, inclusive, and magical visit for all Guests. While I can't be sure if special permission will be granted to you and your mother to use a two-person ECV, I am quite sure that a friendly Cast Member would be happy to chat with you about your options! Contacting Disability Services is super easy. This wonderful team can be reached over the phone by calling (407) 560-2547. You can also email Disability Services at disability.services@disneyparks.com.

Keep your eye on the Disney Parks Blog while you're planning your visit to the Walt Disney World Resort. It's your best resource for news and updates about Disney Parks and destinations!

I hope this was helpful, Rebecca. Please visit us again soon with any new questions you may have about your Disney vacation!
