If my mother in law purchased tickets for 15 people in a group going to Disneyland, can my wife and I access our tickets separately so that we can enter the park and buy Genie+ individually from the rest of our group? Thanks!

Hi Austin! Thanks for dropping by planDisney.

Yes, once you've linked your admission ticket to your Disneyland mobile app, you can scan into the park and purchase Genie+, so you can spend less time in queues and more time focused on the magic with your wife. This additional purchase won't affect the rest of the group. I can walk you through how to do this.

Once you have downloaded the Disneyland mobile app and signed into your Disneyland account, tap the three-bar menu on the bottom right part of the app. This will bring up a series of tiles. Tap "Tickets and Passes." To link your and your wife's tickets, click the "+" or "Link Tickets and Passes." You can scan the barcode on the ticket with your mobile device or enter the ticket ID manually. Your mother-in-law should have the ticket IDs in her original confirmation of purchase e-mail. Enter each ID and your tickets will be linked in the app.

Since Genie+ hasn't come preloaded on your ticket, you won't be able to purchase until you've scanned into the parks for the day. Prices are subject to change, and it is possible on busy days for Genie+ to sell out, so if you'd like to take advantage of this option, I'd purchase it as soon as you enter the parks. On the Disneyland mobile app, you should see "Disney Genie+ Service" with a price for the day and the option to "Purchase." Tap "Purchase" to begin the transaction. It's that easy!

Your trip is right around the corner, and I bet you're excited. The great news is that you should still catch the last couple of days of the Holidays at the Disneyland Resort. Soak up all the magical merriment! From merchandise and treats to entertainment and spirited decor, there's something to discover around every corner. Be sure to check out the special overlays on some iconic attractions like "it's a small world" Holiday in Fantasyland at Disneyland Park. They're my favorite part of the season.

    Have a magical visit.
