My mother injured her foot and is in a walking boot. Are the forms or notes she needs from her Dr to use a wheelchair or scooter?

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel Greg ~

Your trip is just around the corner and I know you're too excited to sleep!

Your Mother will not need any documentation from her doctor to use a wheelchair or scooter at the Walt Disney World Resort. You will be happy to know that most of the queues are wide enough to accommodate wheelchairs and Electric Conveyance Vehicles (ECVs). There only a few that may require her to use an alternate entrance and a Cast Member will be able to assist her to an alternate boarding area.

If your Mother doesn't have her own, wheelchair rentals and ECV rentals are available at the Walt Disney World Resort at all four theme parks, both water parks, and Disney Springs. If you think she may need one to help her get around at her hotel as well, there are local companies that provide rentals and will deliver them to your hotel. Some Disney featured providers are listed on the links above.

Before you head out to the theme parks, be sure to check out the services offered for Guests with Mobility Disabilities. Some attractions allow Guests with Mobility Disabilities to remain in their wheelchairs or ECVs, some require Guests in ECVs to transfer to wheelchairs to board, and other attractions require Guests to be mobile to board. For those attractions that require Guests to be mobile, keep in mind that if your Mother is able to transfer but needs physical assistance, someone in your party will need to assist her. Cast Members will be happy to move her wheelchair or ECV once she has boarded the attraction and will have it waiting for her afterwards.

Wishing you minnie magical memories :-) Allison V.
