Hello. My mother has a dependent military id. Can she buy just one military ticket for a family member without buying one for herself as required in the rules since she has an ap? We would all be going to the park together.

Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Melissa! Please tell your Mom thank you for her service! We all appreciate it!

I’m glad that you are in the know on how to save some money by using those military ticket, room and Memory Maker discounts. But you are correct, your Mom needs to be a user or the main user of the ticket she purchased. If she has an Annual Pass, perhaps there is another military member in your family that may purchase and use a ticket? I wish I had some other official options for you. If you can’t save money on the single ticket for your other family member, perhaps you can elect the Military Discount on Memory Maker and share the fun around with unlimited downloads. Often times, my friends and I will split the cost together and enjoy all our attraction videos and photos, remembering the trip well past our return.

I hope you have a wonderful upcoming vacation, and as always, you are welcome (and encouraged!) to return for more vacation planning advice. We’ll see ya' real soon! ~ Lindsey P.
