Hiya, Laura!
Thanks for stopping by planDisney with your question!
Celebrating a birthday at the Happiest Place on Earth has to be one of the most magical things that you can treat yourself to. I am so excited for you!
Great news, Laura!
Theme park tickets are officially assigned to an individual once they enter the park. Therefore, you can use the ticket originally intended for your mother for another date. You may do this by
modifying the theme park reservation for that ticket. This can be done easily via the
Disneyland mobile app. Here’s how:
- Tap the main menu icon (≡) in the bottom right corner.
- Scroll down to the “Plan My Next Visit” section.
- Tap “Park Reservations.”
- Scroll down to the “Upcoming Theme Park Reservations” section.
- Choose "Modify Reservation."
- Select the members of your party who will be modifying their park reservation.
- Choose the new date by selecting an available date on the park reservations calendar.
- Choose the theme park you want to start your visit at for that day.
- Click "Continue."
While you will select the ticket listed under your mother’s name, it will officially be assigned to you once you enter the park. If you want additional assurance, you can always reach out to a Cast Member by contacting the
Tickets support line at (714) 781-4636.
Bonus Tip: Best practice is to cancel and rebook your reservation by 11:59 PM (Pacific Time) on the day before your current reservation. If you miss this deadline, no worries! You'll just need to wait until the day after your original reservation date passes before you can rebook.
Laura, I hope this information is helpful and that you all have the most magical birthday trip! You are always welcome to visit us again here at planDisney if you have any additional questions!
Sending you faith, trust, and pixie dust,
Karmeen
