We have 9 mos. old twins and are need of a vacation. Our twins love Mickey and Minnie Mouse and my husband thought about a Disney vacation. I feel they are still too young to really enjoy this type of vacation what do you think?

    Hello Gretchen!

When to take your children to Walt Disney World for the very first time is definitely a hot topic.  I think if you ask ten people, you'll get ten different answers. This is one I get asked a lot, especially because we've made the choice to have our children visit Walt Disney World at very young ages. They visited for the first time at just five and six months old.

My honest answer is that it is never too early to start vacationing with your children at Disney World. While our children may never remember visiting at one or two years old, I know those memories are always firmly in my mind and heart. It was amazing hearing my son speak some of his first words (Mickey and Jiminy), watching my daughter sit and have a chat with Princess Aurora, and watching them share their first Mickey Ice Cream Bar together. At six months old, my daughter was enthralled with the characters and giggled the entire time she was on it's a small world.  It's amazing watching them grow up and hit different milestones on each of our Disney vacations.

Taking smaller children to Walt Disney World also makes us slow down and appreciate things more. We can't go crazy running around the parks. We need to take time to rest and enjoy the resort and pool. It's like it forces us to stop and smell the roses.

There are plenty of attractions perfectly suited for smaller children as well. Only a select number of rides at Walt Disney World have a height requirement. We never found it hard to find something our children loved to ride or see. The Baby Care Centers located in each of the four major theme parks are a great resource as well.

And, the best thing is children under three do not need a ticket!

I could go on and on about this topic! It's so near and dear to my heart. Please do not hesitate to come back and ask me anything about traveling with little ones.

    Have a very magical day!
