Morning, we are planning our first trip to WDW hopefully for October 2013. We have a 5 yr old girl and an 8yr old boy. Where would you recommend to stay on site?

    Hi, Meredith!

Planning a first vacation to Walt Disney World is so much fun!  Choosing your resort is a big deal, and there are so many resorts to choose from.

A big part of your decision will be dictated by budget.  If you are splurging on your resort and want Deluxe accommodations, I suggest the Polynesian.  This resort in on the monorail line that will take you right to the front gates of the Magic Kingdom.  There is an amazing pool with a water slide, a sandy beach, and a great view of the Magic Kingdom fireworks.

For traveling on a budget, check out Pop Century.  This resort has less frills, but all of the magic!  Bus service is available to all the parks, and you will love the fun themes of each decade.  The Hippy Dippy Pool is colorful and fun, and the food court is huge!

If you want a happy medium, try a Moderate Resort such as French Quarter.  This resort has a fun boat ride to Downtown Disney, a nice pool area, and this resort is not too big so it is easy to get around and to transportation.

Check out your resort choices HERE.  After looking through your options, let me know if you want more information on any of them.  I would be happy to help you select the perfect resort for your family's magical vacation.

Meet the Panelist: Cathy, Ohio

Hi, I'm Cathy from Cleveland. I love to travel, especially in the winter to escape the snow and cold of Ohio! My husband and 2 kids share my enthusiasm for travel, so we enjoy our adventures together whether it is hiking at a National Park, sailing on a Disney Cruise Ship, or going to Walt Disney World which is our home away from home. My husband proposed to me in front of Cinderella Castle and we have not stopped visiting ever since! It's a blast helping guests here at planDisney!
