Hi Andrea,
Welcome to planDisney!
Although there were
direct transportation buses between Disney's Hollywood Studios and Magic Kingdom in the past, those buses were not operating when I checked in with panelists at the parks yesterday. And, the Express Transportation option that was offered for an additional charge, is no longer available. Since park tickets are being sold with the Park Hopper option for 2021, we are awaiting updates on direct transportation possibilities with the Walt Disney World Resort. Please note that the
Disney Park Pass system currently only allows theme park reservations at one park per day.
Even when direct bus service was available, we rarely used it. We opted to use a ride share service like Lyft or Uber. To travel from Disney's Hollywood Studios to Magic Kingdom, you would need to get dropped off at the Transportation and Ticket Center (TTC) and take the
Express Monorail to Magic Kingdom. Or, if you make an
advanced dining reservation at
Chef Mickey's, you could take the bus from Disney's Hollywood Studios to Disney's Contemporary Resort, have a late lunch, then walk to Magic Kingdom.
Since we are often trying to maximize time in the parks, we have found the ride share services the quickest way to get from park to park or to a dining reservation at another resort hotel. Since they cost extra, I have just started budgeting $100 for a few rides. On our last visit we paid for three rides, two of them were about $13 and one was about $18 not including the tip. When you exit the park, just ask a Cast Member to direct you to the pick-up location for ride share services. We use the mobile app for the respective ride share service to select our ride as we exit the park, just make sure to check the estimated pick-up time to be sure you will be at the pick-up location when your ride arrives!
Andrea, do check the
operational updates prior to your visit as procedures and transportation availability could change. Sending you a little extra transportation pixie dust as you continue to make plans!
Magic and memories,
Donyell
