Greetings, Caroline!
Welcome back to planDisney! I can't think of a more magical setting for a conference than
Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa. It's truly a gem!
Hopefully, your conference days won't be too long, as you'll want to wander the resort when you're able. Luckily, the exterior refurbishments seem to be limited to the main building at this time. You'll see construction walls and scaffolding, as well as here some daytime noise near the main entrance and the south entrance. I was told that there are additional planned refurbishments for inside the main building, but they didn't have dates of when theses refurbishments would be occurring.
Currently, the lobby is home to the
Grand Cottage for the third year! Not only is this springtime cottage adorable, but it also offers delightful Disney treats now through April 1. You'll also find the hand-painted and designed Easter eggs crafted by amazing Disney pastry chefs. I'm not sure I can pick a favorite, but the Alice in Wonderland one is pretty incredible.
My favorite place to end an evening at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa is the
Enchanted Rose Lounge. The outdoor patio is like sitting in a garden terrace and the food and drinks are magnifique. If you're up for an adventure, I suggest hopping aboard the Disney monorail to visit
Disney's Polynesian Village Resort. Trader Sam's Tiki Terrace offers specialty cocktails and the most delicious Kalua Pork Tacos and Pan-Fried Dumplings. You can also catch a glimpse of the
Electrical Water Pageant floating by in the evenings.
I hope you have a fantastic conference, Caroline. Enjoy your visit to Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, and please let us know if there is anything else we are able to assist you with.
Magical Wishes,
Lauren
