Hello from Montreal! I want to reserve the Storyteller's Cafe for my november 17th vacation but some dates appear to be blocked with no availability? Is the restaurant closing? Are those dates blocked for refurbishment? Thank you! Caroline

Caroline, warm greetings from Southern California! You're in for such a treat – by the time you visit, the Disneyland Resort will have transformed for the holiday season. A nice meal at Storytellers Cafe will be a great addition to your trip.

Storytellers Cafe will offer a seasonal version of its popular Character dining experience for the holidays – Mickey’s Christmas Carol Feast – starting November 16, 2026. The reservations just haven't been released yet, since seasonal offerings aren't always released right at the 60-day mark. Keep checking the website and the Disneyland account on Instagram for an update on when reservations will open up. Based on previous years, I expect we'll learn more very soon!

I had dinner at Storytellers Cafe a few times last year when it had this special holiday theme. Seeing Goofy as Jacob Marley was a highlight for me, and the food was delicious as always. You'll love it.

The Grand Californian Hotel is especially cozy and beautiful during the holidays, with a majestic tree, a 7-foot-tall gingerbread display, and even periodic visits with Santa! Make sure you leave time before or after your meal to enjoy the hotel's lobby area. Seasonal decorations, special entertainment, tasty treats, and more continue throughout the Resort. It's really the most wonderful time of the year. The Disney Parks Blog has a great peek into what you can look forward to.

If you're looking for more special experiences for this trip, look into the Holiday Time at Disneyland Guided Tour. More information should be available soon, but it is likely to be packed with festive moments, joyful stories, and more fun. I absolutely love the guided walking tours at the Disneyland Resort.

Caroline, I'll sprinkle some pixie dust in hopes that you'll get the dining reservation you're dreaming of. If you think of any other questions as you continue planning this special trip, please reach out – we're always happy to help here at planDisney!
