How many months out can you plan a Disney vacation?

Hey Howdy Hey Timothy and welcome to planDisney!

With four theme parks, two water parks, a full shopping and dining district in Disney Springs and so many resorts to choose from, planning a trip to Walt Disney World Resort does come with a bit of planning. I love that you are getting to planning your trip early and staying ahead of the game. There is a rule of thumb that you can use when planning a trip to Walt Disney World, but like anything, it depends on the time of the year you are going. Let's break down a few things and then some pointers on planning.

The rule of thumb when planning a trip to Walt Disney World is 499 days. Most often, you can make room-only reservations this far in advance by calling Disney. Disney has usually released the ability to make full package reservations, including room and theme park tickets, to Guests online in the early summer for the following year. This happened earlier this month and Guests are now able to make reservations for the entire 2023 year! So if you are planning a trip in 2023, you should have full access to booking your trip!

While Disney does have great vacation planning information online that will help guide you through this process, I would recommend starting with a general time frame and location. Try and nail down a time you want to visit Walt Disney World as Disney has a special way to celebrate a lot of seasons throughout the year!

Next, I would recommend looking into Disney Resort Collection hotel offerings. There are so many to choose from but staying in the Magic at one of these resorts is my top tip for visiting. Perks include things such as free transportation to almost anywhere on Disney property as well as several unique modes of transportation like the monorail or Disney Skyliner. You will also have access to Early Theme Park Entry which will allow Guests staying at a Disney Resort Collection hotel to enter the parks 30 minutes before the general public. These are just a few of the many perks you will have staying onsite.

The other part about planning your trip you have already found, your new 'Ohana at planDisney! As you work through planning and booking your vacation, if you have any questions at all, please feel free to reach out and ask us anything. We love talking all things Walt Disney World and helping Guests enjoy the planning process and their vacation are things we strive for!

Best of luck as you continue to plan your vacation and let us know if you have any further questions!

    Have a Magical Day,
