Which month does it start having fireworks and parade’s? I’m planning on going January I see their will be no fireworks or parades first time going to Disneyland I looking forward

    Hi Daisy,

Thanks for visiting planDisney and submitting your question! No matter how many times I see a fireworks show or parade, I am always in awe! They are the cherry on top of the cake for any Disneyland trip. Now that the parks are transitioning out of the holiday season, the regular firework shows and parades will be returning.

According to the schedule, it looks like Mickey’s Mix Magic with Fireworks will be taking place at Disneyland in the late evening. Show times appear to be more consistent starting January 17. Unfortunately, there is no parade listed at Disneyland, yet.

Keep in mind that things may change in the park. Keep checking the site for updates and check the weather before you go.  Firework shows can be canceled due to wind or rain. These are always a bibbidi bobbidi bummer, so I’ll be wishing on a star that this won't happen during your trip!  Another thing to take note of is the special Disneyland After Dark events. Sweethearts’ Nite will take place on January 21, 23, and 28. On these days the parks will close early for regular guests, so there will be no regular fireworks show on those days.  Always check the app for the most up-to-date events and times when you arrive at the park.

Entertainment tip: You will see folks line up early to claim a good spot to view any parade or fireworks show. My favorite place to view parades is near It’s a Small World. There are lots of places to stand, and some seating is available in that area too. For Fireworks, I like to be near Main Street right by Refreshment Corner. You are far enough from the castle where you can see the projections and the fireworks clearly, even if Groot was standing in front of you!

Wishing you a magical trip and the best of luck!
