Hello Caitlin! Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.
Experiencing the joy of a little Mouseketeer's first Walt Disney World Resort vacation is a magical experience. As my youngest was 2 before our initial visit, I did not have to accommodate the specifics of Dining Locations when it comes to infants.
It is true that strollers are not allowed in
Table Service Dining Locations at Walt Disney World Resort. When I have seen parents of infants deal with this situation, they will choose 1 of 3 options.
The first option is to hold your child throughout the meal. We saw a mother do exactly this while dining at The Plaza Restaurant in Magic Kingdom. After a brief discussion with the mother, she informed us that it was no big deal and that she didn't mind eating with only 1 hand. I would not choose this option, personally.
The second option is to have the child in a wearable baby carrier. This seems to be the most popular and comfortable option as it is not too cumbersome (at least when carrying an infant) and frees up the hands for the meal. I have seen many parents go this route.
The third option is a portable baby seat like a car seat or one that detaches from a larger stroller. This is a cumbersome undertaking before the meal however many parents of infants choose to bring their own strollers through the parks anyway. With this option, I have seen parents simply rest the infant and the seat into a chair or in the booth beside them while they dine. These detachable seats are allowed in Dining Locations.
If you are not traveling with a stroller of this kind, you may be able to find one that comes with a detachable seat from a
Disney Featured Provider.
Have a Magical First Visit!
