I would like to get my 15 month old son's first hair cut in Disney. Can I get this done on Main St? I heard you can get a certificate, keepsake to keep some hair in and some Mickey ears that say My First Hair Cut. Is this true? How much does that cost?

The Harmony Barber Shop on Main Street is the perfect place for a child's first haircut.  My son had his blonde locks trimmed for the first time there last September and it is one of those milestones I'll never forget.  Beverlene, the stylist, had all sorts of handy distractions on hand to occupy my son's busy little hands and eyes.  When she was finished, she presented us with a certificate, a lock of hair infused with "pixie dust," and a pair of itty bitty "1st Haircut" Mickey ears.  Unfortunately, my son refused to wear his new Mickey ears but I did get a cute picture of him wearing them in the barber's chair.

The cost for the haircut was right around $15 in September of 2007 but prices are always subject to change.

One thing to keep in mind is that the Harmony Barber Shop does not take appointments; it operates on a first-come first-served basis.  The wait can be lengthy at times but you might want to pop in during a parade because you may find the line to be shorter.
