Hi Colleen!
With your Disney Cruise Line vacation coming up quickly, I am sure you are beginning to gather things on the packing list to get ready! Littles sure require a lot of gear, don’t they?!? I remember our first Disney Cruise with two littles – I think we had an entire suitcase filled with only diapers…lucky for us, we had lots of room for souvenirs at the end!
The tube rentals available at
Castaway Cay are the large sized ones and they do not offer infant sized ones for the littlest cruisers. When we have traveled with little ones, we have brought onboard with us their puddle jumpers, but I realize your little one may be a little small for the smallest puddle jumper available. I would recommend bringing on one of those swim jumpers that has an innertube around it or even an infant lifejacket for use at Castaway Cay. When onboard, your little one will need to stay within the Nemo’s Reef splash pad area due to the policy that you must be potty trained to go in the onboard pools, so the need for a float or lifejacket in that space won’t be necessary. You will be fine bringing a properly sized floatation device so that your little one can enjoy time in the water as well!
One of my favorite uses of the onboard
“it’s a small world” nursery! is for naptime, especially on Castaway Cay day! Schedule time in the nursery during your littles nap and then you can enjoy time at the beach while they get their snooze in! The onboard wave phones work while on Castaway Cay, so if there is a need to reach you, you are easily reachable!
Wishing you a magical vacation at sea with your little Mouseketeer!
Happy Sailing!
