I have an 18 month old daughter who gets tired of her stroller when touring Disneyland. Are there any playgrounds available to toddlers to let them stretch their legs and burn off energy? When does Tom Sawyer Island reopen that seems like a good option?

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Bernadette. Thanks for stopping by with your questions for us.

When my kids were little, our favorite hangout spot for them to climb and explore was Mickey's Toontown. They enjoyed playing in Goofy's Playhouse, Donald's Boat, Minnie's House, Chip 'n Dale Treehouse, and of course, Mickey's House. We spent countless hours exploring the colorful and whimsical Toontown.

Other fun spots we enjoyed can be found in Disney California Adventure. Your toddler will be able to traverse through obstacle courses in the Redwood Creek Challenge Trail. When it's a hot day, head over to Princess Dot Puddle Park in "a bug's land", where your daughter can play in this wacky water playground.

At this time, there's no official announcement of when Tom Sawyer's Island will be open yet. Please stay tuned by checking the Disney Parks Blog for updates and news. I hope this information is helpful as you continue planning your unforgettable trip to the Happiest Place on Earth, Bernadette. Please visit us on the Panel again if you have further questions.

    Have a magical day,

Meet the Panelist: Kiki, California

Greetings! I have been fascinated by the magic of Disney since I was a little girl; now that I am a mother of two, I love watching my children experience Disney Parks through their own eyes. I am also surrounded by fellow Disney-loving nurse friends whom I enjoy quick adults-only Disneyland Resort escapes or Disney Cruise Line voyages with. Whether you are planning your once-in-a-lifetime family trip or a short adults-only getaway to the Happiest Place on Earth, I am here to help!
