I have a 14 month old with a brain injury, but he is mostly mildly affected except he will not sit in a stroller or baby carrier of any kind because of sensory processing disorder. Is the DAS card available to such a young child for that reason?

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Katelyn!

As a mom to a son with special needs, I understand some of the challenges you face. When our son was about your son's age, he often protested being in his stroller. However, while touring the theme parks our little Jedi actually seemed more comfortable and secure in his familiar stroller. Maybe your son will find that same comfort with his stroller while in the parks.

If you feel that your little one may struggle waiting in the regular queue, you can request a Disability Access Service (DAS) card from any theme park Guest Relations. Be ready to discuss your son's specific needs with the Cast Member so they can offer the best advice based upon your son's individual situation.

If you need a break from the hustle and bustle of the theme parks, a Baby Care Center is a great place for a break. You will find changing tables as well as a place where your little one can color, watch some television or just play with some toys. There is also a kitchen with a microwave, oven and a sink if you need to prepare food for a snack.  We have found the Baby Care Centers to be a nice respite for our little Jedi.

I hope this helps to answer your question. Please let me know if I can answer other questions that may arise as you are planning your magical vacation!

    Happy Planning!
