Hi there, Martha! Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel and thanks for your question!
The
Disneyland Monorail is a fast and convenient way to travel between Disneyland Park and the Downtown Disney District. I particularly like to ride it when we are ready to head back to our Disneyland Resort Hotel for a nap or a swim after a busy morning in the parks. Official operating hours for the Disneyland Monorail for the week of September 17th have not been released yet. However, I haven’t heard of any planned refurbishments during that time and while construction is occurring in the Downtown Disney District, the monorail has not been impacted thus far. In the next week or so, the
calendar should be populated with your travel dates and you will be able to see the hours that the monorail will be running during your visit.
I have noticed from time-to-time that the monorail will close if temperatures are particularly hot during the day. During one trip in September, it reached 103 degrees and the monorail couldn’t run because it was so hot. You can use the
Disneyland app while you are in the parks to see if the monorail is running and the current wait time. It’s always a good idea to check if it would be faster to simply walk to your destination versus taking the monorail.
Keep in mind that if you will be boarding the monorail at the Downtown Disney District station, you will need to show your valid theme park ticket in order to board. Additionally, if you will be traveling with a stroller, it will need to be collapsed before embarking.
If you have any other questions, please stop by again. See ya real soon!
