Traveling around Walt Disney World Resort by
Monorail is an iconic vacation experience. There's nothing quite like starting your day as Magic Kingdom Park's Cinderella Castle comes into view or curving around Spaceship Earth as your
EPCOT adventures begin. I remember staying at Disney's Contemporary Resort as a young child and being mesmerized as I watched the Monorail pull into the resort's lobby. That view still makes me smile to this day.
You'll be glad to know that this classic Disney World transportation system is available for a good portion of each day. The Resort Monorail, which connects
Magic Kingdom to the Contemporary, Transportation and Ticket Center (TTC), Disney's Polynesian Village Resort, and Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, begins operating 30 minutes before Magic Kingdom opens and stops one hour after park closing. The Express Monorail, which runs without stops between the TTC (Magic Kingdom's guest parking lot) and Magic Kingdom, follows the same schedule. You'll also have the option to board the EPCOT Monorail at the TTC. This line begins running 30 minutes before EPCOT opens and stops 2 hours after EPCOT closes.
Park hours can vary from day to day, so it's best to check the
Hours & Events Calendar for specifics during your visit. I'd also like to mention that severe weather can temporarily shut down the Monorail, but bus transportation is usually provided as an alternative during these instances. In my experience, Cast Members always do their best to ensure guests get where they need to be safely and promptly, so feel free to reach out to them if you need further assistance.
