Hi Diane, and welcome to planDisney. Thank you so much for stopping by with your question.
One of the things I have always admired about
Walt Disney World Resort is the commitment to making the magic accessible for all Guests. Whether someone is using a wheelchair or an Electric Conveyance Vehicle (ECV), Disney has carefully designed its transportation system to ensure that everyone can move easily from place to place and enjoy their visit without worry.
To your specific question, yes, you absolutely can use the monorail to travel between the entrance of Magic Kingdom and the Transportation and Ticket Center while using a scooter. The monorail system is designed to accommodate both wheelchairs and ECVs, and friendly Cast Members are always on hand to assist with boarding and unloading. In addition, the ferryboats that travel across Seven Seas Lagoon also welcome scooters, giving you more than one way to get where you need to go. The wonderful news is that nearly every
complimentary transportation option at
Walt Disney World is accessible, so you will always have a way to reach your destination comfortably.
The only detail I like to make sure Guests know ahead of time is the difference between
renting an ECV directly from Disney versus bringing your own or renting from an outside provider. If you rent through Disney, those vehicles must stay in the park where you rented them. You are welcome to return your ECV, hop on the complimentary transportation, and then pick up another one at your next park for the same day. If you are using your own or one from a third-party rental, you are free to bring it with you on all transportation options throughout your trip without restriction.
Diane, I hope this helps give you peace of mind as you plan your visit. If you think of anything else or need a little extra help with your vacation details,
please come back and let us know. We’re always glad to help.
TTFN!
Brent
