Hi there Martina,
Welcome back to planDisney! Thanks for bringing your question here today, I'm so glad you stopped by. Your trip to
Walt Disney World Resort is fast approaching so let's look at transportation options.
Great news, Martina, transportation within Walt Disney World Resort is complimentary for all Guests (even those not staying at a
Disney Resorts Collection hotel). There are many ways to travel to theme parks, Disney Springs or resorts; my kids consider some transportation modes a ride of their own!
The
Walt Disney World Monorail Transportation is perhaps the most iconic mode of transportation found at Walt Disney World Resort. The Monorail services three resorts (Disney's Contemporary Resort, Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa and Disney's Polynesian Village Resort) as well as the Transportation and Ticket Center and two theme parks (Magic Kingdom Park and EPCOT).
Walt Disney World Water Transportation can be found at numerous locations throughout Walt Disney World Resort. Water taxis and ferries carry Guests to Magic Kingdom Park and Magic Kingdom Area Resorts, from EPCOT area hotels to Disney's Hollywood Studios and from Disney resorts on the Sassagoula River to Disney Springs.
Walt Disney World Bus Service transports Guests to theme parks, Disney Springs and all resorts. Buses are accessible for Guests with wheelchairs and scooters. Check the My Disney Experience app for bus times and directions to get assistance planning travel between parks.
My daughters' favourite way to travel around Walt Disney World Resort is in a
Disney Skyliner gondola. The Disney Skyliner connects several resorts with EPCOT and Disney's Hollywood Studios. The Disney Skyliner's hours of operation begin one hour before Early Theme Park Entry at EPCOT or Disney's Hollywood Studios and finish 90 minutes after EPCOT and Disney's Hollywood Studios close.
If you have a non-theme park day, it's a lot of fun travelling around Walt Disney World Resort using various modes of transportation.
Martina, I hope this information is helpful to your vacation planning. If you have any additional questions, please
let me know. I'm happy to help!
See ya real soon,
Candace
