Hi there, Nikki!
How exciting that you'll be in the middle of the magic this month! I'm so glad you stopped by planDisney for assistance as you finalize your plans. Since your Walt Disney World Resort vacation is rapidly approaching, let's get right to your question (and please stand clear of the doors).
The
Walt Disney World Monorail System has been one of my most beloved attractions (yes, I do consider it to be an attraction) since I was a little girl. I vividly remember gliding through Disney's Contemporary Resort and Disney's Polynesian Village Resort on my way to Magic Kingdom Park and dreaming one of day calling those Disney Resort hotels my magical home away from home. Happily, in recent years I've been able to do just that!
For me, the monorail isn't just filled with nostalgia, it's also my preferred method of transportation to EPCOT because of it's loop through the theme park upon arrival. It provides such a unique aerial view of the park and is especially beautiful during the
EPCOT International Flower and Garden Festival when colorful blooms span as far as the eye can see.
Clearly, I love Walt Disney World's monorail, Nikki, and I want everyone else to feel the same way! With this goal in mind, I'm happy to confirm that the EPCOT Monorail continues operating until 2 hours after EPCOT closes for the day. As long as you leave Magic Kingdom Park and board the connecting monorail at the Transportation & Ticket Center within 2 hours of
EPCOT's closure you should not have a problem reaching your shuttle. In my experience, an hour will typically be more than enough time to travel between Magic Kingdom Park and EPCOT, but you could also use the
navigation feature in your My Disney Experience app for a real-time calculation during your vacation.
I hope this information was helpful, Nikki. If you are in need of further assistance as you continue your magical countdown, feel free to
stop back by. I'm always happy to help!
Thinking Happy Thoughts,
Lizzie
