Are monopod folding stools allowed as a mobility aid or banned as a folding chair? I can't stand for long periods due to foot surgery, but I don't want to carry a cane. This is just to lean on to take weight off my foot during long lines, etc.

Hello Andrea and thanks for asking the Disney Parks Moms Panel such an important question about your upcoming trip to Walt Disney World Resort.
I'm delighted to know you're planning on taking what's sure to be a magical Disney vacation even though you'll still be in recovery from your recent foot surgery.  I thought it may be helpful for you to know there are many Services for Guests with Mobility Disabilities including the convenience of ECV Rentals which could perhaps help reduce your time spent standing and walking within the Disney Theme Parks.
Although folding chairs are indeed considered a prohibited item as per the current Walt Disney World Resort Park Rules I'm happy to share that only monopod stands which cannot fit inside a standard sized backpack are treated at present as restricted personal items.  However as everything is always subject to change and just to make doubly sure - at the very beginning of your visit please do check with Cast Members that your particular monopod folding stool adheres with current policies at Walt Disney World Resort.
    Have a great Disney day.
