How much money do you really save with the meal plan?

Hi Richard! The debate about whether you save or don't save using the Disney Dining Plans will go on forever. For me it is merely a decision whether I want to organize my meals in such a way or eat on the fly during my visits.

For those who choose the dining plans you will have a specific number of credits to use during your stay. Depending on the plan you might have table service credits, quick service credits, and snack credits to use. Many guests don't realize that whether you are on a plan or not you will still need to make the appropriate dining reservations in advance for your vacation.

Read carefully what is included in all of the plans and decide if this is best for you. If you simply cannot eat enough to satisfy what is offered then perhaps the plan is not for you. I have seen many families stocking up on snacks such as Rice Krispie treats on their last day as they haven't used up their snack credits. This obviously is not the best use of the plan.

Food is not inexpensive at Walt Disney World as it isn't at any vacation resort spot. If you prefer having your vacation paid for before you arrive then choosing the dining plan makes this possible. These are the important things to consider when making your final decision.
