Hi Wendy,
You are staying at one of my absolute favorite resort areas in Walt Disney World, the Crescent Lake area. There are three Walt Disney World Resorts all within walking distance of the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin.
The first is
Disney's Yacht Club Resort. This resort has a nautical theme and is a little more formal than many. Right next door is
Disney's Beach Club Resort, which has a more casual, beach-y vibe. These two resorts share a pool called Stormalong Bay, which many people consider to be the best resort pool on Walt Disney World property. Stormalong Bay includes a waterslide themed like a shipwreck, a sand-bottom pool and a lazy river.
Across Crescent Lake and a quick walk away is
Disney's BoardWalk Inn, which has a theme of Atlantic City at the turn of the century. You can rent surrey bikes and pedal around the lake. Restaurants and shops line the BoardWalk. Luna Park Pool at the BoardWalk has a waterslide called the Keister Coaster, which is really fun!
The good news is that all three of these resorts are within easy walking distance of the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin, so which you choose can depend mostly on which theme appeals the most to you. As all three resorts are in the deluxe category, the amenities, rooms and pricing are fairly comparable. Also, don't worry if you choose one and want to see the others - they are all in easy walking distance and you can visit the ones at which you don't stay!
I hope this helps with your decision, Wendy. Please do not hesitate to ask if you have any further questions. Happy planning!
