Hi Mona Leigh, I am planning our first visit in October with my girls (6 & 3) and want to know how I should allocate our time. I am thinking mostly MK with Epcot (1 day) and HS (1 day). Is that reasonable?

    Hi Jin Ha,

Thank you so much for visiting the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question.

It looks to me like you are planning to spend most of your time at Magic Kingdom, with one day each at Disney's Hollywood Studios and Epcot. For your first trip and given the ages of your children, this does sound like a good allocation of time. There are so many attractions at Magic Kingdom, and they do typically appeal greatly to young children. You should consider your children's specific interests in your planning. The Disney theme park that you will be skipping is Disney's Animal Kingdom. If your girls are intrigued by animals, this park offers a great place to see and learn about exotic animals such as giraffes, elephants, and gorillas. If they are not as interested in animals, then choosing to spend your days at other theme parks makes sense.

I recommend that you order the Walt Disney World planning DVD. This is available free of charge. You can view it with your girls, and start to see what attractions and theme parks they are the most interested in. Next, be sure to set yourself up with a My Disney Experience account. You will use this account to manage items such as your resort and dining reservations. You will also use your My Disney Experience account to make Disney FastPass+ selections before you leave home. As you view the DVD, take note of the attractions that your girls are the most interested in. These will be good ones to make Disney FastPass+ selections for, as well as attractions that are very popular and have longer wait times.

I would love to help you plan your vacation more Jin Ha; however, I am limited in the amount of space that I have to answer. Please do let us know if you have any further questions!
