Hi Mona Leigh - We are staying off-site at the Windsor Hills Resort. What do you think our commute time will be to the Magic Kingdom and other parks if we plan to be there ready to go at opening? Thanks

    Hi Kara,

It looks like the Windsor Hills Resort is extremely close to Walt Disney World property. It's about two miles from Windsor Hills Resort to an entrance to Walt Disney World. Other guests who have stayed at Windsor Hills Resort have reported about a ten-minute drive to Walt Disney World Resort. Once you are on Walt Disney World Resort property, I would suggest assuming 20 minutes to get to whichever park you are visiting, into the parking lot and parked.

I would give yourself more time, especially since you want to get to the parks at opening. At Epcot, Disney's Hollywood Studios, and Disney's Animal Kingdom, you will need to either walk or take a tram from your parking space to the entrance to the park. For the Magic Kingdom Park, you will walk or take a tram to the Transportation and Ticket Center. From there you will take the Monorail or a Ferryboat to the park entrance. Once you get to any park, you will need to go through security and then through the turnstiles. I also like to give my family a little time just to get situated before the park opens - to reorganize your backpack, grab a drink, orient yourself to your map, and so on.

All that said, to get to Epcot, Disney's Hollywood Studios, or Disney's Animal Kingdom and be ready to go at opening, I think you should leave one hour before scheduled park opening time. For Magic Kingdom Park, I think you should leave an hour and fifteen minutes ahead.

I hope this information has helped, Kara. Please do not hesitate to ask if you have any further questions!
