Hello Mom's!! We will be visiting Disney World the 3rd Week of Sept of this year and I was wondering on average how is the weather that time of year. As we are celebrating my 40th Birthday and our 12th wedding Anniversary. Thanks Much =)

    Hi Dawn!

Congratulations!  Wow, a birthday and an anniversary celebration is sure to give this vacation an extra sprinkling of Pixie Dust!  Celebrations are always so MAGICAL when celebrating them at Walt Disney World.  Be sure to pick up your celebration buttons at your resort hotel check-in or at Guest Services in the parks.  You never know what special things might happen.

The weather in September, according to the Weather Channel, has an average daily high of nearly 90º F and an average low of 72º F.  The average precipitation is 6 inches.  These are "averages" for general planning purposes only.  Since daily temperatures can fluctuate greatly I would recommend checking the temperatures when it gets closer to your trip to help with packing and itinerary planning.  I usually check the temps at 10 days, 5 days, and I hate to admit it... daily after that.  I have to pack for 6 people though, so being able to swap a pair of jeans for shorts takes up a lot less room in my luggage and is very helpful.

One thing you can count on in September is rain.  When I have visited during the rainy season we seemed to experience a rain shower almost daily.  So pack your ponchos or be sure to pick up some in the shops at the first sign of rain.  I quite enjoy when it rains in the parks.  The crowds seem to lessen, the temperatures decrease a bit, and everybody has a nice rest in a show or shop. If it is a warm sunny rain, we don't even duck into a building ~ we just keep on having fun and making some Singing in The Rain memories.

I hope this helps with your vacation planning.  Please come back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel for any further vacation planning questions.

    Have a Disney Day!
