Hi Moms, We will be traveling to Disney World in February as new DVC members. Should we stay in the villas at Bay Lake Tower or Grand Floridian? How do the pools compare? Thanks so much

    Hi Amy,

Let me be one of the first to say, "Welcome Home!" to Disney Vacation Club!

Bay Lake Tower at Disney's Contemporary Resort is sleek and modern. My favorite thing about staying here is that you can walk to Magic Kingdom Park! You also have quick and easy access, simply by walking over a bridge, to everything that Disney's Contemporary Resort has to offer. I also very much enjoy the elegance of The Villas at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa. Senses - A Disney Spa at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort, is a quick walk away from the villas and is a great way to relax and unwind.

Both of these resorts are on the monorail, and both also offer boat and bus transport to various location. As to the pools at each, they are both very fun and include a waterslide and hot tub. For a comparison of these pools, including great photographs, I would like to point you to the unofficial website blog.touringplans.com.  Once you are there, search for "villa pools." The first link should be to a blog post about the deluxe and deluxe villa pools. Please note that although the post indicates that there may be another pool at The Villas at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, there is not, so you can consider the information there to be complete.

Bay Lake Tower at Disney's Contemporary Resort has many more villas than The Villas at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa. I am not sure which is your home resort, but remember that you can make reservations using your vacation points at your home resort 11 months ahead and at any other Disney Vacation Club resort seven months ahead. Whichever you choose, I suggest making the reservation as soon as you can, as these are both popular resorts.

Ultimately, the decision will come down to the theme that your family prefers, Amy. I hope that I have given you some helpful thoughts for this decision. Please do not hesitate to ask if you have any further questions!
