Hi Michelle, and welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. I am loving the sound of your beachy vacation!
Your question is slightly tricky. Merida, Rapunzel, and Moana are some of my very favorite Disney role models because of their brave, adventurous, and – let’s face it – rebellious spirits. They chase their dreams even if it means breaking a few rules along the way. In real life, I’m more of a rule follower. I break out in a sweat thinking about mixing vanilla with pineapple in a Dole Whip (just kidding – Dole Whip is perfect in every form). So, I’m going to tell you about policy, and I’m going to tell you about practice, and then I’ll let you decide whether to be a Robyn or a Moana (I think you already know the answer to this one).
Officially, Disney’s Vero Beach Resort and Walt Disney World Resort are two separate resorts, and therefore you should purchase a new refillable mug when you transfer between the two. However, a Cast Member at Vero Beach confirmed that it happens all the time and they are happy to make it work for Guests, and she thought it would be the same going from Vero Beach to Walt Disney World. There is an RFID chip in the mug that will work for “length of stay” or 14 days; you can see your remaining days on the digital screen on the soda refill machine. My strategy would be to try the machine when you arrive at Disney’s Beach Club Resort, and if you run into any problems, ask your friendly Cast Member with a big, adventurous smile.
Enjoy your amazing beach vacation, Michelle! I hope you’re planning to visit
Cape May Café while staying at Beach Club. We recently brunched there and absolutely loved the character interactions and the food – the pancakes with Bananas Foster sauce were simply dreamy.
Wishing you a magical vacation,
Robyn
