Hello Moms! We will be staying at AOA for my sons 5th birthday (Dec 29th). I wan't it to be an incredible experience and am looking for special ways to celebrate his birthday. Any ideas? I keep hearing the same things.

    Hi, Amanda!

There are countless combinations of special touches you can add to your son's 5th birthday celebration in Walt Disney World; what a great place to turn 5!

Of course, you'll want to pick up a complimentary Celebration Recognition Button, so that Cast Members and Guests alike can wish your little man a very happy birthday the entire time he's wearing it (he'll feel super-special!) Consider letting him pick the restaurant for a celebratory meal (Chef Mickey's is a great place to celebrate a birthday) and maybe order a Specialty Cake with his favorite characters on it delivered to that restaurant.

For a surprise in your room, look through the various offerings from Disney Floral & Gifts. I especially love the pirate options, as my little guy was all about Captain Jack Sparrow at that age. If the birthday boy loves pirates, then check out how he can be transformed into a scalawag himself at The Pirates League.

When we tour WDW on a birthday, we let the birthday girl / boy pick the park for the day and make a list of everything that he or she would like to see. The adults then map out the smartest way to do it all, which enables the celebrant to feel super-special; the day is all about HIM!

Send another question with the birthday boy's favorite characters, foods and interests (roller coasters? fireworks?) and I'll help you craft a day that filled with his favorite things, Amanda. I love to help!
